Major Construction Work

Requested work involving a total direct cost of $100,000 or more is classified as major construction work. This type of work requires engineering by either Physical Plant Engineering Services or outside architects and/or engineers. Many of these projects will be completed through the Illinois Capitol Development Board. A Request for Physical Plant Services form is required for major construction work or it must be an item on the Resource Allocation Management Program (RAMP).

Minor Construction Work

Work beyond the scope of a Physical Plant Service Requisition which requires engineering is classified as minor construction work up to $100,000. This type of work will be completed by Physical Plant or time and material contracts. Unless there is some imminent deadline, these projects will be completed in order of date ready for construction. This type of work is requested on a Request for Physical Plant Service form.
